STALKER 2 Devs Could Move to Czech Republic (Rumor)
Today Czech gaming website Vortex reported that some developers from GSC are allegedly moving to Prague, where they will most likely continue working on STALKER 2.
Czech website dedicated to the game industry Vortex.cz, citing its sources, informed that part of the Kiev-based studio GSC Game World (creators of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series.) is allegedly moving to Prague, where it will continue its operations.
Pavel Dobrovsky, journalist of LEVEL.cz and Retro Nation.cz is also convinced that the team behind S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl has decided to make such a move.
- What's more, he reports that the studio's next production will be the new installment of Cossacks series.
- At this moment GSC Game World hasn't issued an official statement, which is why it's better to take the above information with a grain of salt.
It is worth recalling that officially at this point the work on Heart of Chornobyl remains on hold. Jirí Bigas of Vortex.cz says that the potential relocation of GSC may encourage other Ukrainian developers to make a similar decision.
The same steps were taken earlier by 4A Games (creators of the Metro series), which moved to Malta in 2014 following the crisis in Ukraine and the annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation.
