Squad With Million Copies Sold And Alpha 13 Update
The sales of Squad, the tactical FPS, have exceeded one million copies. The game has also received an update with new content.
Offworld Industries has already sold over a million copies of Squad, a tactical multiplayer shooter.
Let us remind you that production is currently sold in early access. Squad debuted in December 2015 in Steam Early Access service. The game is available only on PC.
Since its launch in early access, production has been regularly developed through updates. The latest patch, called Alpha 13, came out yesterday. It introduces a new system of wheels and track damage, and the list of specialist roles was enriched with an engineer.
- wheel and track damage systems,
- an extra class - engineer,
- a new tank, a new mode and equipment,
- numerous improvements in mechanics and gameplay,
- switch to a newer version of the Unreal engine.
The patch has also added a new mode called Destruction, in which the attacking side must destroy hardware devices placed at random points on the map. Also, the developers have introduced some changes to the Invasion, Skirmish and Insurgency game variants. In addition, a lot of game mechanisms have been improved and a lot of new weapons have been added (like T-62 tank).
Devs have also updated the game's graphics to a newer version of the Unreal engine. Unfortunately, the changes made by developers have broken the mods. Therefore, they need to be uninstalled, and modders have to prepare new versions of their add-ons.
Finally, it is worth mentioning that despite more than three years since the release with Early Access, the game is still very popular. According to Steam Charts data, almost 2.7 thousand people played the title yesterday (during the hottest time of the day).
