SpellForce: Conquest of Eo, or the successor to Heroes 3?
Devoting a few words to the characteristics of the game, it is worth mentioning that although the action Conquest of Eo is set in the same fantastic universe as the previous games in the series, it is not a direct sequel. Instead, the developers from Owned by Gravity (whom players may associate with such titles as Fantasy General II and Forgotten Fables: Wolves on the Westwind) decided to create a title with noticeable vibes of Heroes of Might and Magic.
SpellForce: Conquest of Eo - storyline and game features
In the game we play as a representative of one of the schools of magic, who wants to avenge the death of their Master and find a great source of power, which is Allfire. In the course of their dangerous mission, the main character will face hordes of powerful enemies. In order for the battles to be victorious for us, we will expand our magical knowledge and form alliances with other characters while traversing the land of Eo.
Despite the fact that SpellForce: Conquest of Eo is a single-player title, it is sure to draw players in for hours. This is to be guaranteed by as many as 600 adventures within a procedurally generated campaign.
The game will offer a wide range of spells and units. During the game we will choose from more than 60 spells and lead to victory more than 100 types of characters - starting with small goblins and ending with mighty griffins.
Progress in the campaign will significantly affect the tower we build.. As we gain more achievements, we will get the opportunity to enlarge our headquarters, and this in turn will affect the path we choose.
SpellForce: Conquest of Eo - first reviews.
Taking into account the first reviews that appeared on Metacritic, it looks like we are dealing with a really solid strategy.. And so, Conquest of Eo is praised by industry journalists primarily for its rich content, beautiful locations and wide selection of spells. As for the flaws, on the other hand, it is difficult to isolate a common denominator for all opinions. Therefore, these are individual observations. From these it appears that after a while a certain repetitiveness seeps into the game. Nevertheless, this inconvenience does not seem to matter so much, as the game received an average score of to 81 points (on a 100-point scale). You can read examples of the conclusions below. While we will try to add more as the reviews come in.
"Each of the three wizard archetypes plays quite differently and there is plenty of content to explore," reads the summary by Softpedia.
"(...) is a delightful twist on the 4X strategy genre. It's just a step short of being a truly ambitious game, with most of the systems in the overall exploration and management still playing second fiddle (...)," writes GameSpace.
