Project Minerva is a New Game From SpellForce 3 Devs
Grimlore Games, the studio responsible, among other titles, for SpellForce 3, announced that it is currently working on a production codenamed Project Minerva. It is to be a top-down action RPG set in the world of antiquity.
Nearly four years have passed since the release of SpellForce 3, the last full-fledged installment in the popular series of strategy/RPG hybrids. Grimlore Games, the studio responsible for this title, decided that it was high time to announce its next project. It will be a production with the working title Project Minerva. Its creation will be partially funded by Deutscher Games-Fonds, which is a German government fund for supporting local developers.
What is Project Minerva? According to the message posted on Twitter, it's a top-down open-world action RPG, set in a "picturesque" and "handcrafted" antiquity (judging by the codename, most likely referring to ancient Rome). According to TheGamer, the title is set for release on PC and consoles and is aimed at "hardcore gamers". It certainly sounds interesting, but how will it turn out in reality? We'll probably have to wait a bit longer for the answer.
Currently, Project Minerva is developed by about 40 people. However, Grimlore Games is actively recruiting. Currently, there are as many as fifteen active job advertisements on their website. The team is looking for, among others, an animation specialist, a programmer with knowledge of the Unreal engine (which is quite a clear signal that it will power the game), a level designer, a scriptwriter and testers.
