Skywind - Creators Report Current Work Progress
A few days ago, the creators of the Skywind mod for TES V: Skyrim, which aims to move the third part of the series to a newer engine, released a video in which they inform about the current status of the work. Unfortunately, we still don't know the mod's official release date.
Skywind, a complex mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has been under development for several years now, with the aim of moving the older part of the series, TES III: Morrowind, to a newer engine. We had the first opportunity to learn about it in 2012. Since then, the TES Renewal team has been working on finishing the mod and everything seems to indicate that the work is coming to an end. As early as August last year, the creators released a 10-minute gameplay, and only a few days ago they shared a video from which we can learn Skywind's current status.
The modification has changed a lot since the last update - including custom weather effects, higher resolution textures or nicer grass. However, the team is still looking for artists who have experience in 3D modeling and would like to help with the finishing touches. The authors claim that they still have a lot of work left to do, but the project has passed the halfway mark.
The same goes for the other elements of Skywind. Much progress has been made in the creation of dungeons, puzzles or the skill system, but people are still needed to help e.g. with voice recording and implementation. If there are people among you who would like to help with the creation of Skywind, it is worth having a look at this address. Finally, it is worth adding that we still don't know the official release date of the mod.
