Skyrim With DLSS Support and Other Features; Up to 50 FPS Without Quality Loss
Visual mods for Skyrim can squeeze the last juices out of even the most powerful computers. The latest tool enables you to significantly improve the performance of the game, even on weaker configurations.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is 11 years old, which shows in its outdated graphics. With the help of improving the visuals come mods, but these often significantly increase the game's requirements. One fan decided to remedy this by implementing algorithms to improve optimization in Skyrim.
TES V: Skyrim - super sampling OFF vs. ON.
You can read the details of the modification by PureDark (and several team members) at Nexus Mods. The authors took it upon themselves not only to improve performance on weaker PCs, but also to generally increase the frame rate of the modded game. Here are the most important novelties included in Skyrim Upscaler.
Content compatible with GTX cards
- FSR2 is an image scaling technology that increases the frame rate while maintaining good image quality. The algorithm was developed by AMD, but also works on Nvidia cards. It also works on the Steam Deck version of the game.
- XeSS works on a similar principle to FSR2 and DLSS, but was developed by Intel. The algorithm enables you to achieve an effect comparable to the techniques of other manufacturers.
These solutions are a great alternative for weaker PCs, regardless of the manufacturer of our graphics card.
Content with support for RTX cards
- DLSS is currently the most effective super sampling technique for getting the highest number of fps without sacrificing image quality.
- DLAA is an advanced anti-aliasing method that enables you to get better image quality without any loss in performance.
In both cases (both for GTX and RTX cards) the requirement is to have DirectX 12 libraries installed. The creators vouch that most fan modifications should work properly with Skyrim Upscaler. However, the modification collides with theENB tool, which fixes many bugs in the game and improves optimization. Instead, the mod works with the VR version, but offers only a small performance improvement there.
Skyrim Upscaler mod in practice
Tests of the modification say it all - TES V: Skyrim (also in Special and Anniversary edition) has received a huge performance boost thanks to the tool's support. The modification provides an increase of up to 50 frames per second at 4K resolution. The entire test can be viewed below (published online a month before the final version of the mod was made public).
Modification version 1.0.3 is available for download for free (takes up about 5 MB). In order for the mod to function properly, it is necessary to install the shading tool. After that you can already enjoy your modded Skyrim, but with a higher frame rate.
