Skyblivion Creators Report Work Progress on the Environment
Skyblivion developers have released new diary entries, showing the progress of the mod. This time the main focus is on locations, buildings and their interiors.
Skyblivion is a mod developed since many years and its aim is to recreate the world of the fourth installment of The Elder Scrolls on Skyrim's engine. The latest dev diary entry published on the project's YouTube channel came out over six months ago, yesterday, however, we received a new one, once again informing about the significant progress in the development of Skyblivion. You can watch the entry below:
As we learn from the video, most of the locations are ready or close to being finished. These places include cities and the areas surrounding them, the creators have also completed half of the forts that were in Oblivion. It is worth noting that modders not only transfer the areas to the new engine but also try to refine and improve them in such a way that they were even more atmospheric. One of the innovations compared to the original Oblivion is the ability to sail a boat through the canals in the city of Leyawiin, as depicted in the game's concept art.
The team is now focusing on the elements that make up the architecture, both inside and out. Beyond that creators have a total of over 8,000 assets to recreate which will form part of the interior design (dark ones and otherwise).
Additionally, TESR: Skyblivion encourages anyone with 3D modeling or programming experience to help to possibly speed up the progress on the mod. The application form can be found here.
As for the release date of Skyblivion, the creators are unable to say when it will be completed. We know that the mod will have slightly higher system requirements than Skyrim and to play it you will need more than just Skyrim but also TES IV: Oblivion and all DLCs for both titles.
