Skul: The Hero Slayer is Steam's Latest Mini-hit
The platformer Skul: The Hero Slayer became one of the first unexpected hits of the year on Steam. Within four days of the release of the full version, more than 100,000 copies of the game were sold. The title is also highly rated by players.
SouthPAW Games has reasons to be happy. The team boasted that sales of Skul: The Hero Slayerhave exceeded 100,000 copies since the release of the full version on January 21 this year.
Importantly, these are not the full sales results, as they do not include copies purchased when the title was sold in Early Access (from February 2020). We do not know the total sales of Skul: The Hero Slayer.
The game was the ninth biggest bestseller of last week on Steam. This is all the more impressive given that it's a relatively cheap title, and the list is compiled by revenue rather than number of copies sold
Skul: The Hero Slayer is available exclusively on PC and offers cinematic localization, i.e. with Polish subtitles. Currently, you can buy it 20% off to celebrate the launch. After February 4, it will be raised to full price.
The game not only sells brilliantly, but also collects very good reviews among players. It already has over 10 thousand user reviews on Steam and as many as 93% of them are positive. It also achieves good activity figures. Last Sunday, at the hottest moment of the day, more than 18 thousand people played the game at the same time.
The release of the full version also stirred a lot of interest on Twitch. On the day of the debut of version 1.0 streams from the game were watched by 29 thousand people at the same time, and last Sunday - more than 42 thousand.
Currently, Skul: The Hero Slayer is available only on PC, but the creators are also working on versions for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Console versions are expected to be released soon, but for now the developers are not ready to provide an exact release date.
