Mods have always been making our favorite games even more engaging, adding new game mods, fixing bugs, and even introducing the possibility of playing in VR.

Silent Hill 2 Remake had its early access premiere three days ago. The game has been well-received by both players and reviewers. On Metacritic, it holds an impressive average score of 87. Nevertheless, fans of the remake have already developed a modification that introduces a VR mode to Silent Hill 2.

Silent Hill 2 Remake VR mod

A user on the GitHub platform with the nickname praydog has created a mod that allows you to experience the remake in VR. With the right equipment and powerful hardware, you can enjoy this acclaimed game in VR mode. However, the mod is quite demanding, so you'll need a high-spec PC to have an enjoyable experience.

I bet many fans of the game have wanted to try it out in VR for years, and now they finally have the chance since the mod is available for free. Of course, the mod doesn’t currently support motion controls or other features, but the gaming community will likely begin working on those additions soon. Nevertheless, the mod is fully playable in its current version (4.8 – 5.4). You can see the mod in action, as a YouTuber named Beardo Benjo released a half-hour presentation of it. You can watch it below.

It's also worth mentioning that the game looks much scarier in VR than in “normal” mode. It goes without saying, but consider this a warning! Getting up close and personal with our old friend Pyramid Thing may not be the best way to relax, but hey, whatever works for you—I’m not judging.
