Silent Hill 2 Remake is Already Quite Close to Completion
The release of the Silent Hill 2 remake does not have to be a distant future. According to the president of Bloober Team, the project is already at an advanced stage of work.
On last Wednesday the official news broke that the Polish studio Bloober Team is working on a remake of Silent Hill 2. Now we hear further reports, according to which the debut of the title may come sooner that you'd expect.
Silent Hill 2 release may be near
During last week's Konami show, no release date was given for the remake of Silent Hill 2, however the game may be released sooner than it seems. October 19-21 saw the WSE Innovation Day, a conference for investors organized by the Polish Stock Exchange. One of the speakers at the event was Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno.
During the presentation, the CEO admitted that the remake of Silent Hill 2 has been in development for three years (via TheGameSpoof) and is expected to be in the "late" stages of development.
Konami plays an important role in the whole process - the Japanese have fully financed the creation of the refreshed SH2. They are also to be responsible for setting the release date.

Also worth noting is the video published today by Bloober Team (below). It shows behind-the-scenes work on the remake of Silent Hill 2. In it, the developers say that they approach the source material with respect and make every effort to preserve the atmosphere known from the original. That is why they have teamed up with its creators.
Of course, we hear the same slogans tha appeared at the time of announcement - selected gameplay mechanics will be modernized, the perspective will be changed and the whole thing will be shown from behind the main character's back.
