Sifu - New Kung Fu Fighter Debuts on State of Play
Sifu is a new proposal from Sloclap, the studio behind Absolver. The first trailer abounds in many kung fu duels fought in various settings. Releasing this year on PC, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
Thursday's State of Play prepared quite a surprise for fans of kung fu presented in artistic form. Sloclap, a company founded by former Ubisoft employees, presented the trailer of its latest game called Sifu. The game is to tell the story of a character, who has only one goal - revenge. He will be helped in his quest my martial arts, offering an arsenal of deadly blows. The trailer shows that in addition to fists, the game will also feature the use of weapons.
The trailer contains a few more or less conscious references to famous fight movies. For example, the initial corridor sequence is reminiscent of the Korean classic Oldboy, and the clash in the neon club is reminiscent of the second John Wick movie. This will be the studio's second game, after Absolver, focusing primarily on all-out hand-to-hand combat.
Sifu was announced for release in 2021, with the game coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC as an Epic Games Store exclusive title.
