Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One Delayed on PS4 and Xbox One
The release of the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One has been delayed. In the case of other platforms, it remains unchanged. The developers have prepared an apology.
In recent months, quite often we hear the phrase: "Rest assured, the game will run fine on PS4 and Xbox One". After a certain December release, players are quite skeptical about such news. Therefore, it is worth praising the behavior of Frogwares, which decided to delay the debut of last-gen versions of Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One in order to polish them. However, the release date for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC remains unchanged - this fall.
"[...] we wanted to tell players now that the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game won’t be part of this first launch," read a statement from Frogwares Communications Manager Sergey Oganesyan. "We’d rather be open with you about it now than have it appear out of the blue, hidden at the end of an announcement or a trailer."
The studio apologizes and expects the delay to be no longer than a few weeks. In addition, the devs have announced a new 7-minute gameplay demonstration, which will take place this Thursday, on September 16. A trailer revealing the game's release date on PC, PS5 and XSX/S will appear at the same day.
