Session Collects Good Reviews; Realistic Tony Hawk Gains Popularity
Skateboard fans can celebrate. The Session may not be the best skater game there is, but it definitely excels in the simulator category.

After an in-depth playthrough of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 and in anticipation of the free Skate. skating game fans can try out studio crea-ture's latest offering - Session: Skate Sim. The game launched yesterday on PC, PS4, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
5 years of development
Session was funded in 2017 on Kickstarter, and a year later the developers presented the title at the E3 trade show. The following year, the game went into early access. Initially, the release was announced for 2020 and the game was to be released only on PC and Xbox One. However, poor content and technical problems forced the developers to delay the release. Ultimately, the game can be purchased from yesterday on Steam (with a 20% discount until September 29), PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store (on PC and Xbox also in the Deluxe or Supporter editions, which include additional content).
Innovative "dual stick controls" system
The title was developed with the participation of skaters, which enabled the developers to faithfully reflect this extreme sport. Unlike the Tony Hawk series, the game does not focus on chaining crazy combos, but aims at a more down-to-earth learning of basic tricks. We perform them with the help of dual stick controls system - enabling us to control both legs of the skater independently using analogs. A similar system is offered by Skater XL or Skate 3, but here it covers the entire process of performing the trick - from bouncing into the air, through executing the maneuver to landing.
Very good reviews
At the time of writing the game has 85% positive reviews on Steam (out of more than 7000 reviews). It is worth noting that most of the reviews were written when the game was in early access - in the last 30 days the title has received 194 new reviews, 71% of which are positive.
