Sequel to Highly Acclaimed Strategy Will Ditch Cosmos in Favor of the Caribbean. SteamWorld Heist 2 Is on Its Way
SteamWorld Heist 2 was announced at the Indie World Showcase. The sequel to the acclaimed strategy will be released this summer.
The announcement of the sequel to SteamWorld Heist was revealed during today's Indie World Showcase, along with an atmospheric trailer (below). The highly anticipated sequel to the acclaimed tactical turn-based strategy game from 2016 by the Swedish studio Image and Form will be released on August 8 this year. The game will shift the action from space to an archipelago resembling the Caribbean.
SteamWorld Heist II will tell the story of Captain Leeway and his crew of robo-pirates. They are tracking a lethal danger lurking in the water, which speeds up the corrosion of "metallic limbs and mechanical hearts."
In SteamWorld Heist II, we will engage in many battles where the crucial aspect will be using bouncing bullets to take out opponents hiding behind cover, similar to the first installment. The developers guarantee that title game will include more than 150 weapons, and the game itself will offer more than 35 hours of fun.
We will also engage in clashes on the open sea in SteamWorld Heist II, in addition to fighting on the surface and in various interiors, as befits a pirate atmosphere. Furthermore, the game will offer a vast, "handmade" world and numerous customization options, from the crew to the ship.
The upcoming game from the Swedish studio Image and Form will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch.
