Sea of Thieves Gets Guilds and Private Mode; Finally Some Smooth Sailing
The tenth season of Sea of Thieves will launch in a few hours. It will add guilds and a private mode to the game, as well as introduce a new event in an unprecedented scale in this production.
The tenth season will launch today in Sea of Thieves, the popular pirate-themed online game. At around 2 a.m. PST, the developers will temporarily shut down the game's servers to apply the update.
The 10th season will introduce a ton of features.
- The most important new feature should be Guilds. These will be player-created organizations with a maximum of 24 users. Their members will be given the opportunity to sail on the ships of guild comrades, even when they are offline. The companions will work together to raise the reputation of their organizations and unlock rewards.
- A new type of event in the form of a competition for an artifact known as the Siren Song Skull also promises to be tasty. What makes it unique is that all crews on the server are to compete for this magical item.
- Another new feature is the Safer Seas mode. It will enable us to create private sessions in which we will play alone or with selected companions. This will give us a calmer gameplay, although at the same time the rewards obtained during the game will be smaller. With the release of Season 10, the traditional open gameplay mode will be renamed to High Seas.
Sea of Thieves is available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X. The game is also part of the Game Pass subscription service.
