Sanctuary in The Isle Explained
Do you want to learn more about Sanctuary in The Isle? You should read our guide, we will tell you everything about this feature.
The Isle is one of the most unique survival games. While in most of the titles players become people (or at least humanoids), in Afterthought LLC creation you can turn into a dinosaur. The game is still in early access, and developers regularly add some features. One of them was introduced quite recently – Sanctuaries. Many old fans and new players have problems with understanding new mechanics. Let’s talk about it.
Sanctuary in The Isle Explained
In theory Sanctuary is an ideal place for young dinosaurs (freshly spawn players). It is a safe zone. To get there, you should use Smell. At the top of the screen, you will see a palm tree symbol. Go in its direction, and you will find the “adult-free” place.
There are some mushrooms in this location, which can sustain omnivores and herbivores. Thanks to that, new players do not have to think about Migration, and learn slowly how to survive.
Of course, around the zone, there are some plants which make it extremely difficult to enter for adult dinosaurs. What is more, there are some bee hives which attack any animal above a certain weight.
Problems with Sanctuaries in The Isle Explained
However, the mechanics right now is not perfect. There are some serious problems with this feature.
- There are not enough Sanctuaries. Due to this, they are often overcrowded (however, less and less players use them, as there are some other problems with this feature).
- While entering a Sanctuary is difficult for an adult dinosaur, it is not impossible. Because of that, Sanctuaries are often attacked by carnivores, which makes them a trap. Bees, which should protect hatchlings and juveniles, do not make enough damage to adults.
- What is more, some adults wait for young dinosaurs to leave the Sanctuary to devour them.
- We can’t forget about carnivore juveniles, as they are also dangerous for other dinosaurs because they do not have other food alternatives. It means that you can be still hunt by them, even if there are no adults nearby.
All of the above make people hesitant more and more to use the new mechanics. Many players believe that going into the Sanctuary zone in this state is a suicide for herbivores.
