From PlayStation to PC; Sackboy: A Big Adventure Release Date
After months of speculation, Sony has finally announced the PC version of the platform game Sackboy: A Big Adventure. The PC edition will be released next month.
Rumors that have been circulating for almost a year have been confirmed. Sony has officially announced the PC version of Sackboy: A Big Adventure, the 2020 3D platformer that until now has been available only on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles.
- Sackboy: A Big Adventure will be released on PC on October 27, this year.
- The game will be sold on Steam and Epic Games Store.
- The PC release will offer, among other things, 4K resolution, support for ultra-wide monitors, NVIDIA DLSS technology and framerates of up to 120 frames per second.
As a curiosity, it's worth mentioning that the game was announced by Sony's division that distributes PlayStation games and consoles in Latin American countries. It seems that someone there was a bit hasty, and that's why the first trailer is not available in English for the time being, and the links provided in its description on YouTube to Steam and Epic Games Store lead nowhere, as the game's product cards have not yet appeared in those stores. Thus, for now, we don't know what the system requirements of the PC release will be.
Sackboy: A Big Adventure was released in November 2020. The game met with a warm reception. On Metacritic, the PlayStation 4 release has an average rating of 83%. In the case of the PS5 edition it is 79%.
It is worth mentioning that this port is the latest manifestation of Sony's heavy investment in the PC market. Previously, the PC has already seen the releases of Horizon: Zero Dawn, Days Gone, God of War and Marvel's Spider-Man, and Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales are on the way. Importantly, Sackboy: A Big Adventure appeared in last year's famous GeForce Now database information leak. Many of the games listed there have already been announced for PC. The list also included Demon's Souls, Ghost of Tsushima, Horizon: Forbidden West and Returnal, so there's a good chance that these titles will sooner or later come to PCs as well.
