Rust Will Get Drones and Novice Mode

One of the developers of Rust revealed that in a few days the game will receive an update that will introduce delivery drones and a softcore mode designed for less experienced players.

Alistair McFarlane from Facepunch, revealed the new features that will be included in the upcoming update for Rust. The patch promises to be ambitious and will introduce significant changes to the gameplay.

The release of the update is scheduled for February 4. The first novelty will be the addition of delivery drones to the game. In safe zones we'll be able to use terminals with which we'll order ready-made items to be delivered by air. The players will not be able to create such devices themselves.

How it will look like in action can be seen on a short video provided by the developer. Alistair McFarlane emphasizes, that many things may still change.

The second novelty offered by the patch is the so-called softcore mode, which will be played on separate servers. It's an experimental variant of the game, designed for people who are just starting their adventure with Rust or don't have time to play it regularly.

In softcore mode, the teams will be limited to a maximum of four people. The players will be able to spawn in the bandit camp, which is a place where we can buy equipment from merchants. Moreover, death won't deprive us of all items. Some of the equipment will be waiting for us in the safe zone.

Rust is currently experiencing a great time. In the last few weeks the game repeatedly set new activity records on Steam. In addition, it triumphs on Twitch. This is mainly thanks to the server founded in late December, on which many very popular streamers play together. The broadcasts encourage many new players to check out the game, so adding the rookie-friendly softcore mode seems like a good idea.
