Rumor: GTA 6 Release Date, Map and Multiple Protagonists
Insider Tom Henderson has provided a handful of reports on GTA 6, claiming that we'll wait a few more years for Rockstar Games' new title.
New week, new leaks about Grand Theft Auto VI. This time from a pretty reliable source, because from a well-known insider Tom Henderson. He posted a short video on his YouTube channel yesterday, in which he discusses, among other things, the setting, the map, the issue of protagonists and the release date of the new installment of the series. You can watch the video below.
Release date
Tom gives three reasons for the game being released only in 2024 or 2025 (which was also suggested by other leaks). First, Rockstar supposedly cares about the well-being of employees and does not want to force them to crunch (the game is still allegedly in the early stages of work). Secondly, as GTA 6 is scheduled to be released exclusively on PC and 9th-gen consoles, the devs want to wait until enough people buy the new Xbox and PlayStation consoles to maximize profits from game sales. And thirdly, the company doesn't need to rush, as GTA V and especially GTA Online are still quite profitable.
Time and place of action
The sixth game is to be set in a Miami-based Vice City, but according to Tom the map of the city and its surroundings will not be too large. New locations will be added and old ones partially altered through DLCs. The insider compares the evolution of the game world to what we experience in subsequent seasons of Fortnite. Henderson also confirmed one of his previous leaks - the one in which he claimed that GTA 6 would take us back to the modern era. This is due to the fact that Rockstar wants to provide players with freedom similar to that of the fifth game, and the 1980s would significantly limit it. And so the game may even feature cryptocurrencies.
Many protagonists
In Grand Theft Auto V we had three characters at our disposal and in the sixth game there will be several of them as well. Henderson announced a while ago that a woman would be among them, and now he's standing by his statement. She's supposed to be the 'smart one' in the team and be responsible for technical issues, such as hacking.
So as you can see, Henderson's reports are a mix of new information with what we already know (or think we know) about GTA 6. Taking into account all the reports, we see a certain image of Rockstar Games' new title, but it is worth remembering that until the American company confirms all these rumors and leaks, we can not be sure of anything. So do not take this and other news as certain.
