Ruiner – cyberpunk top-down shooter on awesome first trailer
Independent Polish studio Reikon Games has officially announced their first project – an isometric action shooter set in a dark cyberpunk world. It is due to release for PC in 2016.
Ruiner is an isometric shooter set in a cyberpunk world of the future, combining grim atmosphere and colourful and detailed graphics (powered by Unreal Engine 4), which bears a slight resemblance to comic book aestehtics. It is the first project from independent team Reikon Games, founded by people who had earlier worked on games such us Dying Light and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Ruiner is created for PC (Windows, Mac, Linux) and will be released sometime in 2016 (with the assistance of the publisher Devolver Digital). Below you can see the first trailer for the title, containing some gameplay fragments:
The game is set in 2091 in a fictional city of Rengkok. Upper class citizens live a happy life spending hours on exciting experiences in virtual reality, the price for which is the suffering of the poor. The player will become one of the latter – a psychopath trapped in VR who intends to rescue his brother from the hands of an evil corporation.
Naturally, most of the time you will be fighting, using both various guns and melee weapons. You will also have some special skills and gadgets at your disposal, such as dash or energy shield. Generally speaking, the game will be dynamic, brutal, and challenging.
