RPG Death Trash Loved by Players; Game Broke Even Instantly
The developer of Death Trash announced via Twitter that the game broke even in less than two weeks after its early access release. This is a great success for the developers, especially since it was achieved in such a short time.
Death Trash is a post-apocalyptic pixel-art indie RPG. The game has been in early access on Steam for almost two weeks and definitely caters to fans of the genre - just take a look at the "overwhelmingly positive" reviews and an average rating of 96/100. The game's success is also reflected in the financial results, as we learn from the developers.
Stephan Hövelbrinks, the lead developer of Death Trash, has been working on the game since 2015, and in 2020 he was joined by several more people, including Christian Heusser. The game debuted on Steam on August 5, and just 9 days later it had already broke even, as Hövelbrinks announced on his Twitter account. This is quite a success for him, and as you can see from the post, the creator does not hide his joy.
What made the game such a success? As we can read it on Steam reviews, the most important factor is the atmosphere. Pixel art graphics straight from the first Fallout games, good soundtrack and the "meat", i.e. intricate and not entirely clear plot - all this makes the game conquer the hearts of players already in the early access phase. And then there are system requirements, which enable us to run the game even on weaker hardware.
