Rotwood - Console (Xbox, PS4, PS5, Switch) Release
Rotwood is a new production of Klei Entertainment. Let's find out if it will be available on Xbox, PS4, PS5, or Nintendo Switch.
There are games which push boundaries of photorealism, and there are ones that don’t care about it in the slightest. The latter can follow their own art style that, if executed correctly, hardly ever gets outdated. Such are games created by Klei Entertainment. Titles like Shank or Don’t Starve released well over 10 years ago are still dazzling and feel fresh with their graphics. Soon, to the roster of many great positions developed by this studio, yet another one will join – Rotwood. Since the two of the previously mentioned productions have received their console ports, it is a valid question if the latest one will find its way to Xbox, PS4, PS5, and Switch. Let’s find out!
Console (Xbox, PS4, PS5, Switch) release of Rotwood
Rotwood takes the unique graphics style of Klei, and this time puts it in a side-scroll brawler cover with a roguelike sauce. As usual, we will pick our character from a catalogue of anthropomorphic animals and venture out to save our forest home from chaos. The genre chosen by developers begs for a couch co-op… which the game offers! That would be a great opportunity to enjoy it with your friends on a big TV screen using your Xbox, PlayStation, or even portable device like Nintendo Switch. Is the title available on these devices though?
The first thing to remember is that the game is in Early Access on Steam. Due to that, it is currently available only on PC. However, the authors from Klei Entertainment have plans to release their production for consoles during the EA period, yet no date is confirmed yet. That should not be surprising, as many of the studio’s titles have been released on multiple platforms.
Since Rotwood’s system requirements are on the low end of the spectrum, maybe it’s worth giving it a try on a PC if you have one? It is also a great opportunity to share the voice about the game. It’s not Klei’s first rodeo in Early Access, as most of their productions started in this program. If you decide to go that route, you will be able to send feedback from in-game’s menu, old-school forum, or official Discord server.
