Resident Evil Village has Modest Storage Requirements
Resident Evil Village's tab on Microsoft's store indicates that Capcom's latest game will require about 50 GB on the console's disk. The size of the title will be limited by the ability to selectively install game modes.
IN A NUTSHELL:
- Resident EvilVillage will require 50.02 GB on the Xbox console's hard drive;
- That's more than RE7, but less than many other AAA games.
Thanks to Resident Evil Village's card on Microsoft Store, we've learned that the Xbox version of the game will require 50.02 GB of disk space. That's quite a bit more than Resident Evil 7, which takes up about 21 GB in basic version (this being the case for the PC edition available on Xbox Game Pass).
Of course, 50 GB of the new Resident pale in comparison to many other titles, such as the latest installments of the Call of Duty series. Particularly problematic is the case of CoD: Cold War, which, combined with the free Warzone, is so large that it may not fit on the storage offered by the base variant of PlayStation 4.
Capcom has also made sure to limit the size of its game as much as possible. Players will be able to install the single player mode (35 GB) and the added multiplayer mode Re:Verse (15 GB) separately - so we can decide (to a limited extent) how much space we provide to the game, depending on which of the modes we are interested in at the time.
Resident Evil Village is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S consoles. The game will be released on May 7 this year.
