Resident Evil Village Demo Available; Launch Scheduled for May
We have been flooded with new information about Resident Evil Village. We learned the game's release date and found out that it will also be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The first demo, titled Maiden, debuted on PS5, and Capcom revealed details of the project's special editions.
Capcom has revealed the release date of Resident Evil Village, the latest installment in the popular survival horror game series. The game will be released on May 7, 2021.
The game's launch date was not the only interesting information provided by the publisher. It turns out that in addition to the previously announced releases on PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, the game will also hit last-gen consoles, namely PS4 and Xbox One. All releases will launch on the same day.
Those who purchase Resident Evil Village on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will be able to get the PS5 and XSX/S editions, respectively, for free.
Maiden - PS5 exclusive demo, second demo coming in spring
It is worth mentioning that Capcom has just released the game's first demo, titled Maiden, which is available exclusively on PlayStation 5. The project is a short standalone story introducing the atmosphere of Resident Evil Village. It does not contain any combat and focuses on avoiding confrontations. It also lets us check out ray tracing and 3D Audio technologies.
Maiden is exclusive to PlayStation 5. However, a second demo will be released in the spring, which will be available on all hardware platforms. It is supposed to be a more representative foretaste of what the full version of the game will offer.
RE Village special editions and preorders
Capcom also revealed that those who pre-order Resident Evil Village will be rewarded with two virtual items - a talisman with a figurine of Mr. Raccoon mascot, increasing the effectiveness of weapons, and a survival resource pack filled with useful resources. In addition, digital preorders will provide us with a soundtrack from the game.
The publisher also announced what special editions of the game will be available for purchase.
Resident Evil Village Deluxe Edition
Digital Resident Evil Village Deluxe Edition will additionally offer so called Trauma Pack, containing among others "Samurai Edge" weapon, screen filter, special safe room music and set of items from Ethan's past. Additionally, the Village of Shadows difficulty mode is to be available from the very beginning, while in the standard version we will have to unlock it through gameplay. The price of the Deluxe Edition is set at $69.99 and it's available on Steam, PlayStation Store, and Microsoft Store.
Resident Evil Village Collector's Edition
The Collector's Edition will cost $220 It will include Chris Redfield figurine, artbook, steelbook, poster and Trauma Pack unlock code. All this will be packed in a box styled like a travel case.
Complete Bundle
Additionally, the Complete Bundle will be available for purchase, a set containing Resident Evil Village with digital bonuses, as well as Resident Evil VII: Biohazard and all its supplements. The bundle is priced at $79.99 and available on PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store.
