Resetting Achievements on Steam is Easy; Here's How to Do It
If you were wondering whether achievements can be reset on Steam, the answer is yes. However, you need to be careful about which games you want to reset your progress in.
Have you ever played a game so good that you wish you could forget it all and plat it once again? Although the first impression is made only once, there is nothing to prevent you from undoing all the achievements you have obtained on Steam. You don't even need a third-party app to do this.
How to reset achievements on Steam?
The first way, which does not require programs other than Valve's client itself, is to launch the console. It is not available by default in the app, but you can enable it using the console in Windows. All you have to do is fire up the Run window using the Win+R shortcut, and then paste the command shown below into the line.
- steam://open/console
At this point, a new "Console" tab will open for you in the Steam client. It's worth mentioning that even when you didn't have Steam launched, the app will open when you type the command. Then in the console, depending on what you want to do, you can type two commands:
- achievement_clear <application ID> <achievement name> - will reset a single achievement.
- reset_all_stats <application ID> - will reset all achievements.
You can find the ID of the application, or game, on SteamDB and in the browser version of Steam in the URL. For CSGO this is, for example, 730.

Steam Achievement Manager
The second way is to use the so-called SAM. Steam Achievement Manager is a third-party app that will enable you to perform the same action as manually typing commands into the Steam console.
When you launch the SAM.Picker.exe app, a window will open, where you will find all the games assigned to your Steam account. You select the game in which you want to reset achievements, double-click and in the new window, in the upper left corner, press "Reset."
Can you get banned for using SAM?
Steam Achievement Manager works on the same principle as the command typed in the console, so you can rest assured about your account. The matter is a little different on the subject of bans in games in which you reset these achievements.
Player known as tristanl0l shared the story of his ban in Dead by Daylight. He claims, he accidentally deleted his achievements, a mistake he wanted to fix right away, but this did not save him from the intervention of the developers. So if you want to reset achievements in online games, you'd better think twice.
