Remnant 2 - Red Door Explained; How to Open a Red Portal?

Update – how to open the red door
The Remnant 2 fan community has found the answer to what lies behind the red door and how to open it. Finding a solution was much harder than it initially seemed. Below is a list of all the items that are required to open the red portal:
- Level 10 of the Explorer archetype and an equipped Fortune Hunter skill ( you have to beat a game once),
- Realmwalker Armor Set,
- Level 5 of the Invader archetype and an equipped Worm Hole skill,
- Relic Void Heart,
- Hand Gun: Cube Gun,
- Long Gun: Ford's Scattergun,
- Melee Weapon: Labyrinth Staff,
- Rings: Anastasija's Inspiration, Amber Moonstone, Black Cat Band and Zania’s Malice,
- Amulet: Leto’s Amulet.
Head to the Labyrinth, and more specifically to Fractured Ingress. Turn left at the large portal and then right. There you will notice a smaller portal that doesn't work very well. It will change the view every few seconds. Be prepared to go in when you see exactly the same image in the portal like on the screen below.
When it appears, go through it after about 2 seconds. The stone bridge will materialize under your feet. Kill the enemies, then go ahead and turn right. There will be a red door.
Equip everything that is needed to interact with this corrupted door. When you go through it, you will be inside The Backrooms. Now your task is to find a specific item - so-called Strange Box. You can also find here some extra items like Bisected ring and Gunfire Security Lanyard amulet. When you will be inside, equip your Fortune Hunter skill from the Explorer Archetype – searching for items will be easier.
It’s worth mentioning that you have 90 seconds to collect those items. After that time, you will be kicked out of The Backrooms. Don’t panic, because you have unlimited attempts to do that.
After collecting all the items, go to Wallace in Ward 13. Once you have the Strange Box, you can give Wallace 1000 Scraps and 10 Lumenite Crystal to get Archon Archetype, a new secret character class.
What is the mysterious red door in Remnant 2?
In the location The Labyrinth, you will find a number of closed portals that can be opened when you obtain a quest item called Biome Portal Key. You will not miss it, as it is part of the main quest. However, in this world, there is a red door that cannot be opened. It is speculated that there may be a secret character archetype behind them. Unfortunately, this cannot be confirmed, as no one has unlocked it yet.
Is there a way to open a Red Portal in Remnant 2?
The red door looks as if it has a close connection to the status of corruption. It also has a similar glow to the special enemies in the game, called Aberrations. Below are potential solutions to the problem of opening this portal.
- Having a Master Portal Key and being Corrupted - to do this, you must complete the energy event in The Labyrinth to get a key and then have Corrupted status applied to you. In the game, however, there are only a few enemies that apply this to a character. Interestingly, according to relations of some players, they managed to get to the red portal with Corruption, although still could not open the door. Perhaps this is a dead end, or something more is needed to unlock this portal.
- Defeat a specific or all Aberrations in the game – Aberrations are opponents with a boss health bar, they are however easier to defeat. There is a very similar glow on their body to the one on the red door. Perhaps defeating a particular enemy or killing all the Aberrations can unlock the portal.
- Corrupting the three worlds – there is a way to Corrupt Yaesha, Losomn, and N’Erud. In Yaesha you must ally with the Corrupted Ravager and kill The Doe, in Losomn become an ally with the Dark King, while in N'Erud find the Override Pin item in a boss fight not involving Tal'Ratha.
The methods given above may or may not work. Players have so far tried various ways to open the red door, unfortunately without success. There is even a chance that interacting with the portal may be bugged.
