Study Proves Red Dead Redemption 2 Improves Animal Knowledge

A survey of nearly 600 participants proves that Red Dead Redemption 2 players are more knowledgeable about animals than people who haven't experienced the title. A handy summary was prepared by a Reddit user.

Players with many years of experience certainly realize that some titles available on the market, provide added value in the form of knowledge, as they have an incredible educational aspects. This time we're talking about a game whose main idea was not to teach consumers. As proven by Reddit user SaiRookwood - a biology teacher from Cornwell and author of the study we'll present below - people who have spent a lot of time in Red Dead Redemption 2, are more capable of identify animal species than those who haven't had any previous experience with Rockstar's game.

SoiRookwood's study surveyed nearly 600 people over the age of eighteen, and consisted of recognizing the species of animals from the game based on photographs taken in reality. As it turned out, the respondents familiar with Red Dead Redemption 2 or its online mode recognized an average of 10 out of 15 examples, in contrast to the rest of the group, which had considerable difficulty in successfully solving the task. Interestingly, people whose character in Red Dead Online was a naturalist or a hunter have given more correct answers on average.

Over the years there have been many titles from which we could get more than just hours of fun. Apart from Red Dead Redemption, we can also mention the entire Assassin's Creed series - in each game we could visit interesting places set in distant historical realities and learn very interesting facts about the past. Jerusalem in the times of Crusades, renaissance Italy, revolutionary Paris or Egypt during the seizure of power by Cleopatra - these are just a few examples. I'm not even mentioning a number of advanced simulators that deepen the players' knowledge of the topics undertaken by individual titles..

Finally, it is worth mentioning that today marks the release of a big update for Red Dead Online titled Blood Money which we wrote about last week. On this occasion the game gained support for NVIDIA DLSS 2.0 technology on PC.
