Red Dead Online Lets You Become an Animal Now
The latest update has introduced a new mechanic to Red Dead Online, enabling us to turn into a deer. The transformation requires collecting several plants and going to a specific place on the map.
IN A NUTSHELL:
- RDR Online introduced the option of turning into animals;
- To transform, we have to complete a quest for Harriet Davenport - collect five plants and smell mud in Little Creek River.
- The transformation lasts for several minutes.
The latest update for Red Dead Online has introduced a rather unusual feature. Players have been given the opportunity to transform into animals - or rather a specific animal, because for now only the transformation into a deer is available. However, it's possible that in the future the list will expand to include other creatures, such as rabbits, boars or possums.

The transformation is linked to a quest from a one Harriet Davenport. The player must collect five pieces of a specific plant (Harrietum Officinalis). They can be found in various places around the game world, e.g. near Valentine, Strawberry or Kamassa River. Below you will find a useful map created by Github user Jean Ropke. It is worth noting that one day you can only pick up one package (five pieces) of Harrietum Officinalis.

If you have the plants, you have to go to the tree visible on the leaflet received from Harriet - it is located in Little Creek River. Then just smell the mud near the trunk and enjoy your new animal form. Note that the transformation is only active for a few minutes, so keep this in mind.
