Rayman Origins to be the next free game from Ubisoft
If you somehow happened to have missed Rayman Origins, you will have a perfect chance to make up for it. Starting next week, Ubisoft is going to give the game away as part of their Ubi 30 celebration.
Ubisoft’s celebration of their 30th anniversary continues. Beginning with Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and continuing with Splinter Cell for PC (the latter is still available on Ubisoft’s website), the third Ubi 30 gift game is going to be Rayman Origins, a representative of one of Ubisoft’s most-recognized IPs. Users of Uplay platform will be able to claim this successful platformer for free starting on August 17 – that is next Wednesday. About the franchise, the publisher wrote:
We could not celebrate Ubisoft 30th anniversary without talking about Rayman. Created in 1995 by Michel Ancel, Rayman is one of the few platforming characters that has been created at the 32-bit era that is still alive today. Rayman 1 was released on Atari Jaguar and is today the Ubisoft game that has traveled across the most different platforms.
As the title suggests, Rayman Origins goes back to the roots of the series, featuring classic 2D platformer after the series saw a couple of 3D games. In it, the limbless hero and friends run across a fabulous, colorful world and overcome various obstacles using their wide array of skills.
Rayman Origins will be available for free for about a month, after which another title will take its place. Back in June, Ubisoft promised they would be giving away seven games until the end of the year – one per month.
