Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Takes Up Suprisingly Little Space
The upcoming Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart from Insomniac Games has found its way into Sony's database. As we can learn from the information posted there, the game will take up surprisingly little space for a PlayStation 5 game.
The release of the latest installment of Ratchet and Clank, titled Rift Apart, was announced on June 11, this year and the game will launch exclusively on PlayStation 5. Nevertheless, the game is already included in Sony's database, which enables us to collect some interesting information about the title. One of the most interesting is the small size it will occupy on the PS5's disk - it is to be only 39.3 GB. If this is the actual size of the title, then Insomniac Games has done something very impressive, fitting such a good looking masterpiece into such a small space.
This is an interesting phenomenon, because compared to another game from the studio - Spider-Man: Miles Morales which weighed in at 50.5GB at launch - the size of Rift Apart is much smaller. However, if we look at the previous installment of the series released on PlayStation 4, which Insomniac fit into 26.4 GB, the difference seems to be even greater. Especially taking into account that the technology of that console is 7 years older. The studio certainly uses the full potential of the new generation, as evidenced by the great visuals, which brings to mind Pixar movies. If despite this the team at Insomniac Games managed to fit Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart on such a small space, it certainly deserves praise.
