Radeon 6800 and 6800 XT Availability May be Severely Limited

Asus has reported that interest in the Radeon RX 6800 and 6800 XT cards is much greater than AMD's deliveries. So we may have another imaginary launch.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. The sale of Radeons 6800 and 6800 XT will start on November 19.
  2. Asus representative for the Nordic market informed about possible shortages on the day of launch.

The upcoming launch of AMD Radeon 6800 and 6800 XT cards may take place on paper only, as was the case with Nvidia's RTX 3000 series. This information was announced in the SweClockers forum by Asus' representative for the Nordic market, David Hammer.

According to Hammer, the interest in the cards is enormous and if someone doesn't place an order when the sale starts, they will have to wait for further deliveries.

"The availability of cards will be very limited. There will be more RX 6800 models and less 6800 XT. The situation will be similar to the launch of Nvidia's cards - we expect to sell out in a few minutes from the start of the sale. Afterwards, you will have to wait around two weeks for partner cards to appear. It's too early to say how the deliveries will be like, but the interest is unlikely to decrease."

It may not be as bad as with Nvidia cards (RTX 3080 and 3090), but those who were planning to buy Radeon RX 6800 or 6800 XT should prepare for November 18, 2020 (when the aformentioned models will go on sale) and hope for the best.
