This year's The Game Awards gala was rich not only in announcements and presentations of upcoming games. There were also announcements concerning already released productions. We are talking about, for example, PUBG: Battlegrounds (previously known as Playerunknown's Battlegrounds, which, considering that the acronym of that title was PUBG, makes the new name a bit... peculiar). Well, as Krafton announced during the event, from January 12 this once popular network shooter based on battle royale mode will switch to free-to-play model.

If you've already paid for this title and felt cheated at this point, the developers of PUBG: Battlegrounds have a compensation prepared - you will not only have access to all cosmetic items and other attractions, but also to ranked and custom gameplay. Free-to-play players who want to use these attractions will have to pay extra, specifically 12.99 dollars.

PUBG: Battlegrounds is available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One (as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S as part of backward compatibility).
