PUBG - Erangel's New Look and Upcoming Changes in Mechanics
Erangel, the first map from Playerunknown's Battlegrounds, will get a refreshed look. In addition, the PUBG Corporation project will get a number of other novelties, the most important of which is the ability to grab ledges.
PUBG Corporation has shared a list of nowelties for Playerunknown's Battlegrounds. These include the refreshed look of the map Erangel, changes in gameplay mechanics (including weapon balance and the ability to grab ledges), and a new vehicle. Let us get down to business as usual.
New incarnation of Erangel
The fourth season of Playerunknown's Battlegrounds will focus on the new version of Erangel. The aim of the creators is to update it in such a way that it presents a level comparable to other locations while maintaining the spirit of the original. The map looks more realistic now, mainly due to the richer vegetation and the refreshed appearance of the buildings. In addition, new areas will appear on the map, and many of the existing areas will be modified.
The changes also include the blue zone and have been made "based on emerging game styles and tactics". It will appear faster, its delay in the early phase of the match will be shorter and its size smaller, while its changes will be slower in both the early and the middle phase of the game. In the late phase, however, the damage outside it will be slightly greater, and the delay will be reduced.
First of all, the above-mentioned improvements will be tested by players playing on PCs. On June 6 at 8:00 p.m. PDT, the Public Test Server will be launched, whose closure is planned for June 12 (also at 8:00 p.m.). Console players will be given the opportunity to play on the refreshed Erangel at the end of summer.
Test schedule for the new version of Erangel
The tests will be divided into two phases. The first one will last for 48 hours from June 6, 8:00 p.m. to June 8, 8:00 p.m., and only the normal custom match mode will be available. The second phase will start at 8:00 p.m. on June 9 and end at 8:00 p.m. on June 12. Creators will then release public and custom matches in squad mode; North American players will see only FPP mode, while Asian players will get only TPP mode.
It is worth noting that only official PUBG partners will be able to create sessions in both phases (you will find a list of them in the official announcement). However, everyone who wants to join the fun will be able to do so.
Other upcoming news
In addition, the devs are working on other upcoming innovations. The biggest one is the ability to grab the ledges, which is supposed to "change the way players move, explore and try to survive", while at the same time allowing them to get to previously inaccessible places. The second one is the BRDM, an amphibious armored vehicle, whose skillful use will most likely turn the tide of many battles. The creators also keep an eye on the balance of weapons and the development of progression system, the first sign of which was the introduction of proficiency in the use of a given weapon.
