PS4 Firmware 8.00 Inbound
We're likely to see a new PlayStation 4 software update soon. Version 8.00 is reported to focus on the news and events. Selected people have already had the opportunity to test the upcoming changes.
Although the current generation of consoles is slowly coming to an end, Sony hasn't finished supporting PlayStation 4 yet. The last firmware update for this platform took place two months ago. It looks like it's about to receive another one, numbered 8.00. Twitter has been overflowing with entries from the Japanese users who have been invited to test the beta version of the elements included in the upcoming update (via MP1st).
So, what exactly can PlayStation 4 owners expect from the 8.00 update? First of all, changes and innovations in the news and events system, a special feature that enables us to have fun and talk together. The list includes:
- Easier start of communication with many people (saving once created events etc.);
- Less complications when joining a larger conversation with a whole group of previously created friends;
- Faster access to messages sent to conference members;
- Better markings when someone turns off the microphone;
- Deletion of Public/Private settings (only group members will be able to join the event);
- Option to join a chat, even if one of its members is blocked, more convenient changes to event settings;
- Disabling the option to start playing together through an event (the session can be started inside a given title);
- Ability to quickly mute all microphones;
- Disabling the option to create an event directly on the community screen;
- Disabling the possibility of creating new events (events and tournaments prepared by game developers will still take place);
- Several cosmetic improvements.
Please note that this is not the final list. Sony may decide to withdraw some ideas or add new elements based on the ongoing beta tests.
Soon, the beta tests of 8.00 firmware should also start outside Japan. The update's official release date is not known yet.
