The developers of the Yakuza series are working on two new games. Both titles that Ryu Ga Gotoku studio is working on have been announced and briefly presented during The Game Awards 2024.

The first game revealed by Sega was a new version of the cult Virtua Fighter fighting game series. The last full-fledged installment of the series was released in 2007, and in 2021, it received a second remaster. So, fans of fighting games have a reason to celebrate.

Unfortunately, not much was shown from this project. Essentially, we have only received confirmation that the game is being developed, along with a very brief gameplay clip showing a few seconds of combat.

We saw more from the second project of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio: Project Century. This title will be closer to what we know from other developer's games: it is supposed to be an action-adventure game with a TPP view. However, instead of modern times, the devs will take us to Japan in 1915.

Both games don't have a release date yet, but we will probably have to wait a long time for them, judging by the lack of final titles. In the case of PC, fragments of gameplay from the pre-alpha version were shown. It's worth adding, however, that we will learn more details about the new Virtua Fighter today. The VF Direct stream will start at 9:00 a.m PT.
