Project 007 May Start a Trilogy of James Bond Games

We learned a few new details about the upcoming James Bond game. In a recent interview, the head of IO Interactive - Hakan Abrak - revealed plans related to Project 007, the latest video game about Her Majesty's best secret agent.

Last November it was announced that IO Interactive was working on a new game. The devs of the Hitman series shared with the world a teaser image of Project 007, in which we play as James Bond. Until now, there has been very little information on the Danish studio's new project, with the developers focused entirely on the release of Hitman 3. Hakan Abrak, CEO of IO Interactive, has provided us with some fresh information on the game.

In an interview with the Danish editorial team DR, Abrak revealed some specifics about Project 007 (via thegamer.com). At this point the game is still at a very early stage of development, but the developers are confident that it will recreate the atmosphere of the film classic. There's no doubt that the game will feature a number of villains striving for world domination, spectacular chases and other factors that define every Bond.

We won't get to play any of the iconic James Bond impersonations this time around.

Although the game will draw on the atmosphere of its predecessors, Project 007 will be an entirely new story, unconnected to any of the 007 films. This move seems to be dictated by the developers' desire to rewrite the origin story of this legendary character. It's possible that Project 007 won't end with just one game. The studio has plans for an entire James Bond trilogy! Such assurances may fire the imagination of gamers and all fans of the British spy, but at the moment IO Interactive must focus on developing the first installment of the alleged trilogy. To this end, the studio is planning to double the number of employees to 400. In the future, the Danes are also planning to open a new branch in Sweden and spread their wings with future projects.
