Portal Knights Will Get an MMO Version
505 Games and Duoyi Network are working together to create an online game in the universe of Portal Knights. The game will be released in a free-to-play model, and its first demo will be available in a few days during the China Joy event.
The Italian publisher 505 Games has just announced that it is working with the Chinese company Duoyi Network to create a web-based game set in the Portal Knights universe. The production will be available in a free-to-play model, and the first demo will be released during the China Joy event, which will take place on August 2-5 this year.
According to the devs, their new title will contain concepts known from the original Portal Knights. We can expect a game set in a fantasy land built of blocks with a typical sandbox crafing / building system, known for example from Minecraft and an arcade combat system. In addition, there will of course be appropriate mechanics of MMO games. So far, nothing more is known about the production and the date of its premiere.
The original Portal Knights was released in 2017 on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch consoles and mobile devices running on Android and iOS. July 27 saw the release of another expansion for the game, adding a new class of characters and a race of elves.
