Nintendo has finally addressed the performance issues in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet.
Tomorrow, the company will release an update for both games, with which the first season of ranked battles will begin. With that, we also got to know the creatures that will be available for use in the first official tournaments in both games (via Wolfe "Wolfey" Glick on Twitter). Apparently, for the time being, players will be competing without Legendary Pokémon and Paradox forms (which definitely doesn't worry the fans).
In addition, version 1.1.0 will fix "selected bugs," although no details were given. Perhaps more importantly, however, the list of changes does not end with this last point. The developers also left a short message.
In the statement, it was confirmed that Nintendo is aware of performance issues in 9th-gen Pokemon games and apologizes to the players for this. It also assured that the developers are working on "improvements to the game."
"We are aware of problems with the performance of the games [Pokemon Violet i Pokemon Scarlet - ed. note] that the players encounter. Our goal is always to give them a good experience with our titles, so we apologize for these inconveniences. We take player feedback seriously and are working on improvements to these games."
On the one hand, this suggests that the "selected bugs" to be fixed by patch 1.1.0 do not include performance drops. On the other hand, this is the first time these problems have been officially acknowledged and addressed, if you don't count the alleged response of customer service employees.
It is also worth recalling that, according to information available so far problems with performance drops in the new Pokemon games are most likely the result of a memory leak. So far this has not been confirmed, nevertheless reports on the web support this thesis.
Therefore a temporary solution is to restart the game every few hours.. This does not eliminate all the problems, but it makes quite a difference.
