Players Waited 25 Years for Strategy Like Sea Power. Even Prohibitive Price Didn't Scare Them Off

Sea Power can already be checked out in Early Access, although it's not a cheap purchase, especially for Steam Early Access.

Sea Power: Naval Combat in the Missile Age is now available on Steam. As promised, the simulation RTS debuted today in Early Access, although not at a good price. Despite the day one discount (-10%), we have to pay as much as $44.99 for the game of the Triassic Game studio.

It could be questioned whether such a steep price for - no matter how you look at it - a relatively niche title will discourage potential buyers. However, it clearly didn't happen. Only a few hours after the game's release, 4.3 thousand players were enjoying it at the same time. The title also made it onto the Steam bestseller list: it currently ranks fourth.

It may be surprising that the issue of price doesn't appear very often in most positive reviews of Sea Power posted by Steam users. The game isn't without flaws, even those who appreciate it agree that it still needs improvement, bugs can ruin the fun and it's evident that this is a "very, very early access" (there isn't much content).

Here's to hoping the team will polish and develop their game into a spiritual successor to Jane's Fleet Command worthy of the modern era.
