Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville Reviews
Last week, Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville debuted on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The title was quite warmly received by the industry media.
Last Friday, after a three-year break, the popular Plants vs. Zombies series returned. Admittedly not in the form of a full-fledged third installment (this one is due to debut next year), but in the form of an informal next part of the multiplayer Garden Warfare series. Battle for Neighborville, as the new TPP shooter is called, is available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. As befits a production focused on online gameplay, it took some time for industry journalists to form their opinion. Reviews have been published throughout the past week and are mostly favorable.
On Metacritic, the average rating for Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville on PlayStation 4 is currently 78/100 (based on 18 reviews). According to critics, the greatest advantage of this title is that it simply gives a lot of joy in the series's characteristic colourful, humorous and all ages-friendly style. Online mode offers a host of game variant, maps, crazy hero classes and unlockable things that should attract players for longer, and the single-player campaign, though repetitive, can be a nice breakaway from multiplayer competition. New content can also be expected in the future.
However, the title is not without its shortcomings. Reviewers have noticed that despite a number of improvements compared to previous parts of the Garden Warfere series, Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville contains a number of simplifications to help the beginners get into the game. Therefore, people looking for a bigger challenge may feel a bit disappointed. In addition, the title suffers from some technical problems, such as not always optimally working servers.
