Physical Power vs Magical Power in Dark and Darker - Classes, Skills and Perks

Dark and Darker is an upcoming game, but it can already be checked out during playtests. It is possible to create a variety of character builds, but in order to make them efficient it is worth knowing what the different stats are. Thanks to this guide you will learn what Physical Power and Magical Power are, which characters need them and which skills work best with these stats.

Physical Power vs. Magical Power in Dark and Darker

Physical Power is a statistic responsible for physical damage inflicted by weapons. The classes that need it the most are:

  1. Fighter
  2. Barbarian
  3. Rogue
  4. Ranger
  5. Cleric

Magical Power on the other hand, translates into damage inflicted by spells. This statistic is important for classes:

  1. Wizard
  2. Cleric

A high value of Physical Power and Magical Power also affects the effectiveness of individual skills and perks. Below are the ones that need the aforementioned stats the most.

Dark and Darker Physical Power - Skills

  1. Fighter - Victory Strike - The next attack deals an additional 20% weapon damage. If the target dies from this attack you recover 5% of your maximum HP.
  2. Barbarian - Reckless Attack - The next hit ignores 75% of your enemy's defense. Your aggressiveness results in an armor penalty of 55 points. The buff is consumed when an attack hits an object or the target.
  3. Rogue - Weakpoint Attack - When next attack succeeds, it deals 50% additional weapon damage to the target. If the hit is successful, the target's defense is reduced by 50% for 5 seconds.
  4. Cleric - Smite - For 7 seconds deals additional 10 damage.

Dark and Darker Physical Power - Perks

  1. Rogue - Ambush - The first attack within 3 seconds after exiting stealth deals 50% additional weapon damage.
  2. Rogue - Backstab - Increases physical damage bonus by 30% when attacking form behind.
  3. Rogue - Dagger Expert - Increases your physical damage bonus by 5% when attacking with a dagger.
  4. Ranger - Spear Proficiency - Spears can be used. When attacking with a spear, gain 10 physical strength.
  5. Ranger - Ranged Weapons Expert - Increases physical attack power by 5% when attacking with a ranged weapon.
  6. Ranger - Sharpshooter - Headshot damage increased by 15% when attacking with a long-range weapon.
  7. Barbarian - Axe Specialization - Adds 10 weapon damage to your axe attacks.
  8. Barbarian - Savage - Physical damage bonus increases by 10% when not wearing any chest armor.
  9. Barbarian - Berserker - The lower your remaining HP, the higher your physical attack power. Each loss of 10% health from your max HP gives 3% more physical attack power up to a max bonus of 30%.
  10. Barbarian - Two Handed Weapon Expert - Increases physical attack power by 5% when attacking with a two-handed weapon.
  11. Fighter - Combo Attack - Physical attack power temporarily increased by 10% with each successful melee attack within 3 seconds.
  12. Wizard - Melt - If you deal magical fire damage to target, the target's physical reduction bonus is reduced by 10% for 5 seconds.
  13. Cleric - Blunt Weapon Mastery - Increases physical attack power by 5% when attacking with a blunt weapon.

Dark and Darker Magical Power - Skills

For this stat, its highest value is required with Wizard's skills. These include:

  1. Ice Bolt - On hit, it deals magic damage and reduces the target's movement speed by 15% for 1 second.
  2. Lightning Strike - After 4 seconds, a bolt of lightning strikes in the target area, dealing spell damage.
  3. Ignite - Set the target's weapon on fire, dealing 5 additional magic damage and burning enemies when hit.
  4. Zap - If hit, it deals magic damage and burns the target for 1 seconds.
  5. Fireball - Shoots a fireball that causes 30 direct damage to a target and 20 splash damage and a knock back effect to nearby targets.
  6. Magic Missile - Fires up to 10 homing missiles that each deal 12 damage. Stops firing when you move.
  7. Chain Lightning - Electrocutes the target, inflicts spell damage, and fires lightning that is transferred to a creature within 4 meters and shocks up to 3 times. It does not transfer to the target it was transferred to once, and it transfers to your as well if you are nearby.

Dark and Darker Magical Power - Perks.

  1. Wizard - Arcane Feedback - Each time you do damage with an arcane spell your spellcasting speed and base magic damage increases by 1% per stack. Arcane Feedback can stack up to 5 times. The bonus duration lasts for 7 seconds and resets with each successful stack.
  2. Wizard - Arcane Mastery - Increases the magic damage of arcane spells by 5%. Reduces the casting time of arcane spells by 1 second.
  3. Wizard - Fire Mastery - Increases the magic damage of the fire spells by 5% and increases the duration of burn status by 2.5 seconds.
  4. Wizard - Mana Surge - Increase your magic damage bonus by 5%.
  5. Rogue - Poisoned Weapon - A successful attack applies poison that deals 4 magic damage over 4 seconds. The poison effect can stack up to 5 times.
