The Dynasty Warriors series has come a long way since its debut in 1997, dropping a new game practically every year. If nothing in 2025 has grabbed your attention yet, Dynasty Warriors Origins hit advance access (with the deluxe edition if you're willing to spend a bit more) and officially launches on January 17th. The reviews are already overwhelmingly positive, so if you’re itching to take down enemies in style, don’t miss out! Just keep in mind, some players have reported occasional stutters and crashes on PC, which might get in the way.

Stutters, Lags and Crashes in Dynasty Warriors Origins

Steam threats for Dynasty Warriors Origins reveal a troubling trend: many players encounter frequent stuttering and crashes upon entering the first major battle, although some reports smooth performance even on less powerful rigs.

Unfortunately, there aren't many guaranteed fixes. The best you can do for now is experiment with the graphics settings, cap the frame rate to 60 or 40 FPS, and see if it makes a difference. Keep in mind that PC setups vary wildly, so performance issues can stem from many factors. If you're experiencing major FPS drops, try updating your graphics card drivers and closing any unnecessary background apps or overlays. Disabling or lowering settings like Anti-Aliasing, HDR, or Dynamic Resolution can help improve performance, especially during intense battles with lots of enemies.

Some players suggest that the culprits behind stutters are G-Sync or FreeSync, if you are out of ideas, try disabling them. Lastly, try to play in windowed mode.

Been with gamepressure.com since 2019, mostly writing game guides but you can also find me geeking out about LEGO (huge collection, btw). Love RPGs and classic RTSs, also adore quirky indie games. Even with a ton of games, sometimes I just gotta fire up Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, KOTOR, or Baldur's Gate 2 (Shadows of Amn, the OG, not that Throne of Bhaal stuff). When I'm not gaming, I'm probably painting miniatures or admiring my collection of retro consoles.
