Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous Follows in Footsteps of Pillars of Eternity 2 [UPDATED]
We know when the expanded version of Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous will hit PS4, XOne and Switch. Before that, however, a third major DLC awaits us. Like Pillars of Eternity 2, it will be set in pirate climates.
Update
I bring bad news for all RPG fans who have been sharpening their teeth for the DLC announced for August 11 The Treasure of the Midnight Isles for the game Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. Its developers, Owlcat Games studio , announced today that testing of the add-on has shown that it needs additional work. Therefore, its release has been slightly delayed -. the expansion will debut on PC on August 30.
Original message
Studio Owlcat Games has prepared a nice novelty for fans who asked for controller support to be added to Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. Today the developer announced when the title will hit consoles - in addition, in the Enhanced Edition. In addition, the third story expanion - The Treasure of the Midnight Isles, will soon be released. The developers seem to have been inspired by Pillars of Eternity 2, because the new expansion - just like that work of the team at Obsidian Entertainment - will use a pirate setting.
Console edition
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous - Enhanced Edition will come out September 29, 2022 for PS4, XOne (there will be digital and boxed editions) and Switch (cloud version only). As part of backward compatibility, the title will also be playable on PS5 and XSX/S. This edition will be the only one available on consoles - while on PC it will replace the standard edition, whose owners can count on a free upgrade.
Pirate DLC
The Treasure of the Midnight Isles is scheduled to be released slightly earlier, namely on August 11, 2022. Thus, it should become available on consoles on the same day Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is released on these platforms. It can be purchased separately or as part of a season pass, which costs on Steam around $25.
The expansion will take us to the title islands, located on the "dark ocean of the abyss," which "offers a fortune... or death.". They are to hide both "unspeakable treasures" and "unspeakable horrors". In turn, we will move between them aboard a "grim, cursed ship".
- A sizable archipelago is to be made available. On its territory will be located the action of the expanion's main campaign, as well as a brand new standalone mode, which will offer solutions known from roguelike games.
- The developers declare that it will be an ideal opportunity to test various character builds - including mythic paths) - and party compositions. That's because some of our progress will be retained with each death.
- The DLC will feature many new magical weapons, potions and scrolls. In addition, within its framework we will come to face both the enemies featured in the base game and the previous two expansions, as well as completely new ones.
