Last Octobers' Partisans 1941 will receive its first full-fledged DLC. The Back Into Battle expansion was announced today and will be released in less than a week, on April 29. The expansion will offer new modes and features that will provide Alter Games's title with more variety and higher replayability. You can watch the fresh trailer below.

The new features include customizable scenarios, which, like in a sandbox, will allow for diversification of the game by choosing any group of guerrillas, their skills, and equipment. We'll guide our rebels on five existing and seven new maps, where the players will face unique challenges.

If these prove too easy for veterans of the genre - hardened by years of playing Commandos - the DLC will offer them the heroic defense mode in which they will have to fend off successive waves of enemies. New dialogue lines have also been added to enable the players to get to know their soldiers better.

The Back Into Battle expansion will launch on Steam next Thursday and will require the basic version of Partisans 1941 to run. Its publisher, Daedalic Entertainment, has not yet announced the price of the new content. It looks solid enough that it should not lower the game's high ratings on Steam (86% of over 2.5 thousand reviews are positive).
