According to the latest report of DFC Intelligence, 3.1 billion people in the world are already gamers (which translates into about 40% of the world's population). Most of them live in Asia (1.42 billion) and slightly less in Europe (668 million), Latin America (383 million) and North America (261 million).
Compared to previous years, the largest increase was recorded in people using only smartphones - users loyal to mobiles account for almost half of all gamers in the world. Mobile devices are most popular in Asia (53% of all users). Next spots are taken by: Europe (17%), Latin America (11%), Middle East and North Africa (7%) and North America (4%).
1.5 billion people (48% of the global gaming market) are PC users. However, it should be remembered that many of them use other hardware besides personal computers. Consoles are used by 8% of all gamers. This low score in the summary is balanced by the fact that representatives of this group spend the most on their hobby (per head).
