Hardcore RPG Outward: Definitive Edition - Next-gen Upgrade Announced
Outward: Definitive Edition, an enhanced and expanded edition of the 2019 hardcore RPG, has been announced. The revised edition will hit not only PC, but also PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.
Nine Dots announced Outward: Definitive Edition, a refreshed version of the popular RPG from 2019.
Outward: Definitive Edition - basic information
Outward: Definitive Edition is supposed to represent the culmination of the game's development and after the project's release, the developers will be able to focus on their next work.
- Outward: Definitive Edition will be available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
- The release will take place in May this year.
- Outward: Definitive Edition will include the base game and all expansion packs.
- On PC Definitive Edition will be a free update for people who own the previous version of the game and all of the expansions.
New features in Outward: Definitive Edition
Definitive Edition will offer a lot of changes and novelties:
- There will be unique new battles in most dungeons.
- Defeat scenarios will be expanded to include additional situations that are consequences of unfortunate accidents.
- There will also be new diseases.
- Several locations that were out of character for the rest of the game will be improved, such as the fortress of Vendavel and the dungeons under the Ancient Plateau.
- Content from the expansions will be integrated more naturally into the base game.
- In addition, a number of community-suggested improvements will be implemented, including an enchantment system, crafting menus, and access to lockers in co-op mode.
Outward debuted on March 26, 2019 on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and the game proved to be a considerable success. In the first few months after the release, sales exceeded 400 thousand copies.
Two expansions were released in 2020 - in June, the The Soroboreans DLC was released and in December - The Three Brothers expansion.
