Outriders Demo in Detail, 24 GB Required on PC
People Can Fly informed about the content we'll see in the upcoming demo of Outriders, which will be released next week. We also learned the unlocking schedule and the required amount of disk space.
IN A NUTSHELL:
- People Can Fly revealed a bunch of information about the Outriders demo;
- The demo version will offer: part of the campaign and side missions, 7 levels, 4 character classes, access to multiplayer and cross-play features;
- The demo will be available beginning with February 25th on all platforms (on PC only on Steam).
Polish studio People Can Fly presented details about the demo of its online action game Outriders, which will be available in less than a week - on February 25. The free demo will be available on all platforms (PC - on Steam and via GeForce Now - PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S). It will require about 22 / 24 GB of disk space (the first value applies to consoles, and the second to PCs, both of which may increase after unpacking the files).
Outriders demo content
Players will gain access to all four character classes (and six hero slots), with which they will be able to play through the prologue and the first chapter, until the confrontation with the enemy known as Gauss. It should be noted that after defeating this enemy, a few more side missions will be unlocked, which will enable us to explore the world more freely. The maximum experience level in the demo version will be seven, which means that we'll gain access to four class abilities and two skill points. All progress will be transferred to the full version (although there will be no achievements). PC users wishing to take advantage of this opportunity should remember to purchase the Steam version - progress from the demo will not be transferable to the Epic Games Store release.
The demo willalso enable us to gain a limited amount of resources, which can be used to create items or purchase new equipment from merchants (the crafting system itself will not be available in the demo - the items we gain will be useful after the game's release). In addition, we'll be able to access fifth World Tier, which is a mechanic responsible for dynamic adjustment of difficulty in the game (more about it in this video).
Demo - game modes and unlock schedule
It's worth noting that the demo will support co-op mode and cross-play (the latter will have to be enabled in the settings). Developers warned that these solutions are still being tested, so it is possible that there will be some problems. Demo will not feature any time limit and will probably be available also after the release of the game.
The global release schedule is summarized in the picture below. Gameplay from the demo will be freely streamable, and players interested in finding a team can use a Discord channel set up by the devs. We also remind the game's system requirements.
We also remind that the full version of Outriders will debut on all platforms on April 1 this year.
