- The devs are preparing a pack with legendary items as compensation for the problems.
The release of Outriders did not go quite according to plan. The game sells very well, but leaves a lot to be desired in terms of technical condition. Those who have purchased the title should be interested in the recent announcement of the first update. Its release is scheduled for next week, because the devs want to spend the next few days on solving problems related to servers.
Next week's patch will bring performance improvements in situations where the memory of the GPU was not fully utilized. This will help minimize engine clipping and Direct X 11/12 issues, as well as improve matchmaking stability. The developers are also planning to remove many bugs resulting in game crashes, as well as those causing the HUD to disappear or characters to get stuck in elements of the environment.
When the patch is applied on all hardware platforms, the devs will re-activate cross-play. In addition, the update will change the default matchmaking setting from "Open" to "Closed". This will limit situations when we join games of people who do not want to see us, as well as speed up the search for games. We will be able to manually change this option in the menu. In addition, the patch is to fix a bug that causes the clearing of inventory. After applying it, the devs will perform a one-time action to restore lost items.
It is worth noting that the devs have already started introducing changes to the game balance. These do not require updates, as they are implemented on the servers. The first reactions to them are not too positive, as quite a few skills have been nerfed. Players argue that this only leads to the game being less enjoyable. This is not a PvP game, so nerfing abilities that users liked makes no sense.
To compensate players for technical issues, the devs are preparing a so-called Community Appreciation Pack. It will be available for those who played Outriders between March 31 and April 11, as well as for those who will have their equipment restored. The pack will include legendary items and resources like titanium, in type and quantity appropriate to our character level. In addition, a "frustrated" emote will be added.
