Oddworld: Soulstorm Launches

Oddworld: Soulstorm is now available. The game debuted on PC, PlayStation 4 and PS5. On consoles, the game is also available in April PlayStation Plus.

Oddworld: Soulstorm, the sequel to Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee New N' Tasty,is now available on the market. The game is available on PC, PlayStation 4 and PS5. The PC edition is available only in Epic Games Store. Before buying this edition, it is worth getting acquainted with the system requirements made available a few days ago.

On the other hand, the console version can be purchased on PlayStation Store. Those who purchase the title on PS4 can upgrade to the PlayStation 5 edition for free. There is no option to do it the other way round. It is worth mentioning that the project is also available in April's PlayStation Plus offer, but only in the PS5 version. This is supposed to be the reason why it is impossible to downgrade the release from PlayStation 5 to PS4.

So far, no reviews of the game have appeared online, so it's difficult to assess whether the devs at Oddworld Inhabitants managed to fulfill the hopes of fans.

Expectations were high for Oddworld: Soulstorm, because Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee New N' Tasty turned out to be a very successful work. The PS4 version received an average rating of 84% on Metacritic, while the PC release got 86%.

Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee New N' Tasty was a remake of Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee from 1997, but the game introduced quite a few changes in comparison with the original. In the case of Soulstorm, the devs did not try to recreate the second installment, Abe's Exoddus. Some elements of the plot are similar, but overall it is a completely new game.
