Octopath Traveler 2 Launches; Beautiful RPG Charmed Reviewers
The second part of the critically and gamer-acclaimed RPG will hit the stores today. Unfortunately, the high price is a bitter pill to swallow. At least it's good that a 3-hour demo is available.
If you like steampunk jRPGs and don't skimp on money, Octopath Traveler II should become an object of your interest. This highly rated title will debut today at 5 pm CET.
February's most interesting classic RPG
Octopath Traveler II is a development of the concept familiar to fans of the first part. You will begin your adventure by choosing one of eight distinctive characters: merchant, warrior, scholar, thief, cleric, dancer, hunter or apothecary. Each of them has a unique motivation, social status affecting the plot, as well as a set of assigned skils with the possibility of upgrading them.
When traversing the steampunk land of Solista during the period of steam engine development (Victorian times), we will encounter other characters, with whom we can explore the world and perform various tasks. The core of the game remains combat in turn-based mode, an element well known to fans of the the first game and Japanese RPGs in general. A novelty, however, is the indicator of the so-called latent power, after filling which we gain a powerful special skill. The title was maintained in HD-2D style (combining 16-bit sprites and three-dimensional environment).
High price and long demo
The game will be released today on PC on Steam, PS4 and PS5 consoles (PS Store) and Switch (Nintendo Store). Regardless of the platform, the title is priced at $59.99
If you are not yet convinced to buy the game, the developers have made available an approximately 3-hour demo version (on all platforms). The demo enables you to go through the game's prologue, in which you will get acquainted with the characters' skills and gameplay mechanics. All progress made will be transferred to the full version of the game.
